GTA intermodal terminals: container pickup and delivery
Most ocean containers for the Toronto area don't arrive by ship. They land in Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Montreal or Halifax and ride the train to a rail terminal in Brampton or Vaughan. Jaden Express is the truck that takes them from there to you.
Our office on Highway 50 in Woodbridge is close to both CN and CPKC's GTA terminals. We know the gate routines, the appointment systems and how fast free time runs out, so your container leaves the ramp before charges start.

FREE TIME
We watch the clock so storage charges don't land on your invoice
Once a container is available at the rail terminal, the free days start counting. After that the railway charges storage and the shipping line charges per diem until the empty is returned. A day or two late can cost more than the drayage itself.
Our dispatch tracks availability and last free day on every container you send us. If your dock can't take it in time, we pull it anyway and hold it in our Bolton yard, which usually costs less than paying storage at the ramp.

Intermodal questions
What is an intermodal container?
It's a standard shipping container that moves by more than one mode, usually ship, then train, then truck, without the freight being unloaded in between.
Why does my container come by rail to Brampton or Vaughan instead of by ship to Toronto?
Most container ships call at coastal ports. The railways then carry the containers inland to GTA terminals, where a drayage carrier picks them up.
What is last free day?
It's the last day you can leave a container at the terminal without paying storage. We plan the pull around it.
Can you pull a container on a customs hold?
Not until CBSA releases it. We work with your broker and pull it the day the hold clears.
Do you deliver rail containers outside the GTA?
Yes, to Southern Ontario cities on request. [confirm lanes] Send the postal code and we'll quote it.
